It's now a couple of weeks into school and it's about time for a real club fair hosted by the Student Council! Tables are set up around the lunchroom giving students a chance to talk to the different club presidents and members about joining. Lunch has been extended to an hour and a half today with a few of the teachers and students grilling up hot dogs and hamburgers for the student body. You were even given one of those little cards where you have to get signatures from 4 different club presidents proving you participated for credit!

CLUB TABLES

Along the Lunchroom walls tables have been set up for various clubs and sports.

JOIN FOOTBALL

Clint is a busy guy. Which means he can't be the only person running the team's table! But no matter what he's got his trusty megaphone (now complete with his name sharpied on the side) and is spending the next couple of minutes excitedly pulling everyone over to try and convince them to join the football team.

SOFTBALL IS COOL

Piper isn't trying too hard to recruit anyone, but she is standing there looking hella terrifying cool with a scuffed up bat.

THEATER

Running the booth meant that he didn't have to go around to other booths to get signatures for the credit. Instead he can sit and relax and have people come to him. So.

Also, this year maybe the musical could look good if Areli picks people out. Now he can call out cute boys.

NEWSPAPER CLUB

Talia was seated behind one of the tables, a nail file in one of her hands. She definitely was interested in the newcomers this year, after all, with her shipping out once the year was over she needed to make sure everything was going accordingly.

The Dice North Daily wasn't the...most accurate newspaper around (depending on the article you read obviously), but it was very entertaining to say the least. Journalistic integrity was all well and fine, but getting readers to think what you wanted them to was an art in itself. Leaning one arm on the table, she put on her best smile.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

Pajea had been sitting upright, completely still aside from anxiously wringing her hands, for about ten--no, twenty minutes by now. She had set out a binder of some past club member pieces, a clipboard with a sign-up sheet, and a small bowl of candy for 'incentive'.

Honestly, the only real bad thing about the booth was just the girl sitting on the other side of it. Pajea's expression was concentrated, and somewhat fierce. She seemed to be muttering something under her breath, but the words were inaudible.

TUMBLING + TENNIS

Sandwiched between two of the tables, Diedrich is attempting a handstand. He manages to hold himself up in the air for a few seconds before falling over. Undeterred, he tries again. He's the only person manning either of these tables and this was probably a terrible idea.

"Come on guys! Join tumbling! It's fun!" Almost immediately, he falls again. This time on his face. "Or tennis. Tennis is fun too." comes out muffled.

YOGA CLUB

Does the school even have a yoga club? You aren't entirely sure.

Regardless, Eli is lounging behind a table, feet propped up on the second fold-up chair he'd been provided. Aside from the shoddy sign taped to the front of his station, not much else can be seen. No paperwork, flyers, or sign-up sheets; nothing.

BIBLE STUDY

Oh my. Sophia was spending so much time getting the recruitment table absolutely flawless that Atlas was sitting there missing the trifold display she had been slaving over for weeks! He set up the nice friendly tablecloth he brought from home and slowly placed out the brochures that Sophia had made ever so helpfully. He even brought a bowl and filled it with a assorted dum dums.

He was dreadfully worried about anyone actually stopping by the table. He wasn't so great at public speaking- oh he did hope that Sophia would be here soon.

JOIN SOCCER

Caspian didn't mind being asked to help out at the table sponsoring the boys soccer team, but he didn't exactly seem the most professional. He had his own way of doing it, one of which being sitting on the table instead of at a chair behind it. Whenever his sights land on someone he thinks would be perfect material for their team he pulls them over, urging them to sign up with a smile and a heavy hand on their shoulder.

BASKETBALL

Thanks to the football team snatching up almost every single person over six foot that even went to this school, the basketball coach had sought out the one tall person who had refused to join every time, Toivo. The team was so awful as it was that it didn't even matter that Toivo hated the sport, or was mediocre at best. He just had to be tall. And he was.

He didn't even have to set up the table, he was just forced to stay at it when he wasn't eating lunch. So. He kind of just sat behind the table. Glaring.

Seriously, fuck basketball.

Archery club

Erastus saw the sign, he read the sign, and he lifted up and looked around. He wrote his own name and added in Kenzi's, however one very important thing was missing from the table.

Where the hell was the rep?

Seriously, did he just sign the piece of note book paper and walk away? No. that couldn't be it, when did the club meet? That'd be nice to know. Erastus sighed and walked around to the back of the table, there were free chairs just existing there so he'd figured he'd sit down and eat while he waited for the club captain to get back.

DANCE CLUB

Inara is ready. She has so much planned for the dance club this year and the table set up is insane. Photos of past dance practices and performances, a laptop with various dances playing on a loop and music blasting from an excellent sound system.

Most club tables have poster boards covered in glitter glue, so this probably wasn't all entirely necessary...

SWIM TEAM (GET SOAKED)

This was definitely something only Doris was willing to go through with. When she pitched the idea, most of her team members got nervous and declined, mentioning something about the 'captain not liking it' and that it would 'upset Ms. Rosalind'. Doris thought it would be fun, though, and actually get some people to sign up.
So here she was, in her most shapely swimsuit under what was definitely not her own XL men's white t-shirt, the bottom hem sitting at about knee-level. She checked the cooler underneath the table, smiling to see there was still some ice left.

Her booth looked very presentable. It was obvious some time had been put into setting up everything. The only thing that seemed out of place was a small sign at the table that read 'SIGN UP & DUNK DORIS' on it. The arrangement was pretty straightforward-- If Doris could get a full page of recruits, she would (outside) dump a full cooler of ice water on herself. The page already was about a quarter full with signatures, so she took a moment to sit back and relax. This would be a piece of cake.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE

Oliver doesn't feel much like socializing with everyone in this fair. He's not one to go up to booths and start a conversation. Buuut he knows he can't just ditch out of the fair completely so he decides to hang at the ultimate table.

He's definitely not the captain... actually he doesn't even know who the captain is. Is he de facto captain? Eh whatever.

ANIME CLUB

As you might expect, the anime club booth had everything - a huge sign with anime characters collaged onto it, anime figurines and DVDs, a laptop playing AMVs, a poster with pictures of members in cosplay and anime pictures they had all drawn, a bowl full of Japanese candy...

There was only one thing missing. Tanum frowned. What was it. He thought he had planned for EVERYTHING, what could he have possibly forgotten...

Debate team???

There has to be a debate club, right? Even Leroy's old school, horrible and public and full of nasty people with no taste, had a debate club. But he can't find the table. There seem to be a lot of excellent sports clubs, which is something to look into and he reminds himself that cardio is the first rule of all apocalypses (or something like that. He reminds himself though his memory is bad and that film came out ages ago).

"Excuse me," he says, grabbing the shoulder of the nearest passer-by with more force than is strictly necessary, "Can you point me in the direction of the debate club? I would really appreciate it, thanks."

COURTYARD

Outside in the courtyard the teachers and a few students are helping grill up and serve food to the students. There are a few picnic tables set up and enough space for a few to start a pick up game.

Aerika was in Volley Ball, Hockey, Lacross, and occasionally sat in on Bible Club; she didn't need to join anymore clubs. She'll be enjoying her plate of food of freshly burnt undercooked hotdogs that the other students were serving up.

Lawrence had wandered into the courtyard seeking a respite from the insufferable din that had been emanating from the football recruitment table.

He stood slightly off to the side, contemplating which of the people out here would be worth his time.

Lesley recieves one of his specially prepared vegan-friendly meals and sits down at his usual table. He had already signed up for the tennis team and that fulfilled the school requirements for extra curricular activities.

Nero was already enrolled in his fair share of clubs and after-school activities, and he had definitely passed on being any of the representatives for said clubs. He'd probably only succeed in driving new members away if anyone stationed him over there. Hahaha!!!

So he sat in his usual lunch spot, taking the extra time they were given to work on the homework assignment he'd been assigned the hour before.

Cassidy had stalked off after Clint had beat Aerika in arm wrestling. He went to sit down at their usual table. Lesley and Tovio were on the other end talking about something. He was more than happy to sit there and try and figure out whose signatures would be easiest to forge so he wouldn't actually have to do the club fair. He pulled out his (black) pen and started on his older brother's.

JOIN OCCULT CLUB?

Niko sighed as he looked at the display for occult club, taking in the gaudy, obviously fake blood splatters on the sign.

"This is really cliche... we arent the shitty horror movie club..."

He straightened out the signup sheet and sat down, crossing his legs in wait for potential new members.

"Please join occult club we arent actually going to sacrifice you, no matter what anyone else says."

Langley had wandered around the tables, signed up for a few potential clubs then stopped. His eyes widened in delight.

"Niko!!" He waved enthusiastically barreling through upperclassmen to get to him. "It's Langley! Sorry about setting your hair on fire two years ago! Whatcha doing?!"
