What: Lunch + Club Fair
When: End of the 2nd week of School
Where: Lunchroom and Courtyard
Re: BASKETBALL
"Issit because you're cooped up behind a table? Cause that's boring. I wouldn't want to either. I don't like being bored."
Speaking of boring, there didn't look like there was anything interesting to take from this table.
But signaturrressss.
"I've never played before! Everyone always said that I was-" She reached up and pat the top of her own head, emphasizing each of the next syllables, "Too. Short." She smiled and giggled a bit, not understanding that it was usually not a friendly comment when said to her by the local kids on the neighborhood court.
Re: BASKETBALL
"As long as you can shoot a ball, it doesn't matter how tall you are," Toivo said. He grimaced a little bit at how much candy was shoved in her mouth. That was pretty gross.
"You know, you're going to get cavities if you keep eating candy like that."
Re: BASKETBALL
"Well let's find out then! It'd be exciting to try." Gemi half bends to pluck her signature card out of her shoe (she's keeping it tucked under the laces now, because of how often she needs to get it out), and looked around expectantly for the sign-up sheet.
Re: BASKETBALL
Re: BASKETBALL
"I like doing stuff! Like I said, being bored is boring." She conveniently didn't mention that the more things she had to do, the less time she had to spend alone or at home with her family. "Do you really think they'd take me if I've never played before?"
Re: BASKETBALL
He snorted a little at her last question and looked away. "They took me," he muttered under his breath. Then he looked back at her and smiled a little. "I'm sure you'll do just fine."
Re: BASKETBALL
"Okay! Does it have tryouts like the swim team? When are those gonna be?" She asked, sliding the sign up sheet and her signature card toward him.
Re: BASKETBALL
"Yeah, you have to try out, but chances are that you'll get in. Tryouts are at the end of the week, at 8." Toivo wrote his name on the signature form and then wrote the time and location of the tryouts. "Here. So you can remember."
LOL she'd totally call him toy boat
She took back the card and read the information he had written on it before tucking it back into the laces of her shoe.
"Wow! Thanks a lot!" That's super helpful! This Toivo boy is so nice.
it took ages for me to get people to pronounce it right
"And it's not a problem. Just come by if you feel like it. I'm sure you'll be able to get on the team," Toivo said. And if she got on the team and was better than him, then maybe there was enough people where he could just quit.
