"Diedrich!" She moved the bowl of candy to be a bit closer to him. "You've been...really moving! Very active and all. I've seen you...you've been...it's been..." She was doing some hand movements that were probably supposed to represent him tumbling, but it just came across as confusing.
"You look like you're having a lot of fun. I...I've been doing okay. Got some signatures." She glanced down to the table, her smile fading. "she showed up, though." She nervously turned focus back to him, trying to change the subject. "But you!! You must have gotten hundreds of signatures...right?"
don't mind these two
Diedrich's face grew concerned when Pajea mentioned Doris, though. He had never met her, but clearly she HAD to be a bad person to make Pajea feel this terrible. And if he did ever meet her, oh man, words would be exchanged. He reached his hand over to gently touch Pajea's and offered a comforting smile.
"Ha. Ha. Oh. Well." He looked at his table(s) rather sheepishly. "Not exactly? It's probably because I keep falling on my face. Maybe I should juggle tennis rackets instead...." He looks like he's seriously considering that. Diedrich, you don't even know how to juggle.
cuties
After a couple moments of internal screaming, she started to shove herself up and out of her chair, cheeks now completely flushed. She looked back up to Diedrich with an incredibly strong look of intensity, eyes wide as saucers. "Yeah. You...You...you..." She panicked, thinking that maybe she was supposed to do some sort of physical contact back. "I...I...I...I..." She clasped a trembling hand over his, with way too strong of a grip, and immediately let go, collapsing back into her seat.
"Ca-Careful...with those bruises." She finally spoke, gesturing to his arm. "Don't...Don't...get any more..." She swallowed hard. "...please."
Re: cuties
Then he looked at her gently, though a little embarrassed. "But, uh, thanks for worrying."

People were decent to Pajea for the most part, but this kid was going above and beyond in treatment. He even had the audacity to touch her. She still wasn't entirely sure whether to be offended or pleased with that.
"You're....you're welcome." She finally murmured, a lop-sided smile tugging at her cheeks.

"So, uh, tell me about the writing club! I'm not really good at writing (she probably realized this from their group project), but I do like to read! Do you guys do any publications?"
no subject
"It's pretty straightforward-- we have new prompts and writing forms to experiment with at each meeting, and we do group reviews of our work. There are some competitions for writing locally, so we can help in getting people ready for those submissions, stuff like that." She glanced back up to him.
"Well, good writing stems from good reading. If someone were to show you the ropes, really sit down and have you write," Her grin relaxed and she pushed the binder back to the side of the table. "Then I bet you'd improve at an exponential rate."
diedrich this is your official sixth club
"That sounds really cool! So I guess it's fine if I'm not that great at writing then, huh?" He smiled. "Okay, I'll sign up!"
no subject
"You're gonna be a great writer. So great. We'll...we'll show them. You, I mean. You'll show them." She murmured, staring at Diedrich like he was a new puppy.
