"I was referring to how you plan to douse yourself in ice water as a draw to get students attracted to your organization. Clearly that is an inappropriate seduction tactic, hence 'obscene'." He gives her a pointed look out of the corner of his eye for just a second, but otherwise refuses to look directly at her.
no subject
It's definitely a seduction tactic. It's Doris. There really wasn't any doubt in the first place.
"If you think that's the best I can do," she leaned in towards him, a coy grin tugging at her cheeks. "Then you're really in for a surprise."
no subject
"You are the one who first mentioned anything about self-interest or romance. And I am quite sure that there are more reputable tactics for benefiting your team than what you are currently doing." He said a bit quickly. "And I am most certain that any truly upstanding organization would not have to resort to anything so uncouth."
As she leaned toward him and spoke of a 'surprise' the redness in his face blossomed.
"I want no part of it." He hissed, trying to look anywhere but at her.
no subject
She reached out to brush her hand against his arm lightly.
"So you have no reason to be so uptight, then, yeah? I'm not a dog. I won't bite you or anything."
Her sneaky expression suggests otherwise.
no subject
"You would be better off attempting your crude sales pitch eLSEWHERE."
...oh.
His voice cracked.
no subject
"You haven't left yet, is the thing. You're still here with me, even after all that talk." She chuckled, tugging the neck of her t-shirt out. "That interest, at least, is not a bad place to start. I'm Doris." and with that she moved away, leaning against the wall nearby him.
no subject
"I haven't left because-" ...Because.
....
In all honestly he hadn't left because he didn't know how. This had never happened before.
He didn't know how to deal with these kinds of situations.
"-it would have been rude." He finished.
But she moved out of his personal space and finally gave herself a proper introduction so this was back into familiar territory.
"And I am Lawrence." He adds quietly, awkwardly readjusting his tie.
no subject
"Lawrence, then. Not a bad name." She glanced off to the faculty, tucking part of her hair behind her ear. "Been here long? You're definitely not one I've seen here too often." She giggled. "Or at least, not one I've paid proper attention to before."
She gestured to the lunchroom. "You already filled out your club stuff? Doesn't look like you were in there too long, sug."
no subject
He shifted awkwardly and made a face at being called 'sug'. He took the opportunity to look back at the cafeteria.
"Ah. That." Lawrence cleared his throat and clasped his hands behind his back "No... I have not. I had decided it was time for a...respite from the event."
no subject
"Well, nothing wrong with taking a break, I suppose." She took a step away from the wall, stretching her arms high above her head, the bottom of her shirt rising to mid-thigh. "I mean, that's why I'm here. Had I not come out, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of your company." She lowered her arms, placing her hands on her hips with a small sigh. Doris turned to glance at him.
"How fortunate for the both of us. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see you again."
no subject
"Perhaps. Itwasapleasuretomeetyou, goodbye." He said without looking at her again, and hurried away.
no subject
She did one final stretch before heading back inside, eager to see if her list of signatures was full yet.
