[LOG] CLUB FAIR AT LUNCH

It's now a couple of weeks into school and it's about time for a real club fair hosted by the Student Council! Tables are set up around the lunchroom giving students a chance to talk to the different club presidents and members about joining. Lunch has been extended to an hour and a half today with a few of the teachers and students grilling up hot dogs and hamburgers for the student body. You were even given one of those little cards where you have to get signatures from 4 different club presidents proving you participated for credit!

Cassidy raised an eyebrow. Well there was a first for everything.

"And you wanted to talk to me about Horses?"

"I do indeed, if you're willing to spare the time." He gestured to the seat next to Cassidy at the table.
"May I?"

You know what Cassidy might regret this, but he would always have the out of needing to go stop at a table. And honestly, not a lot of people were willing to indulge him talking about racing.

He nodded at the guy's request. Sure he can have the seat.

His smile might have been mistaken for fully genuine as Lawrence took the seat next to Cassidy. He held his hand out as he sat.
"Lawrence Levvy. My apologies for not properly introducing myself to begin with."

Cassidy looked at Lawrence's hand. This guy was for real wasn't he.

"A pleasure" he says, biting back a sarcastic undertone as he took Lawrence's hand.

"Likewise~."
As soon as the pleasantries had ended, Lawrence tented his fingers and immediately launched into what he honestly considered to be 'good conversation'.
"Now, the young lady heading the Newspaper table mentioned that you would be the one to speak to were I interested in the possibility of an Equestrian team. So then, of course, I would like to know if there is in fact such a student organization? I assume that you must be on it, to be so quickly recommended as a source of information. What is your equestrian sport of choice?"

"There isn't an equestrian team here"

Cassidy leaned on the lunchroom table. "I barrel race, but that's it. But i'm already on the football and baseball teams"

I'm always so happy when I can use this icon.

Quite to the point, isn't he. Hm. Fair enough. Round-about talk was cheap and a ploy to confuse your opponents, which Lawrence would be the first to admit; that was often why he used it.
"What a shame." He said, rolling his shoulders. "Something must be done about that."

"But barrel racing, tell me more about that. Western riding competition is a bit outside my circle I'm afraid; I'm more of an English rider myself, you see. Dressage and showjumping."

Yeah this guy definitely seemed like an English rider.

"I only race a few times a year, but August is fast and gives a good run."

Why is this guy so interested in him wtf.

It seemed a waste to Lawrence, to participate in such a grand sport so infrequently. But then again, what little he knew of 'rodeos' came solely from the harsh and hushed gossip from the barn hallways back home.

"August. Is that your horse's barn name then? What's it's show name? I have two myself; Witching Hour and West Coast Smoke, though I show with Witch more often."
