[LOG] CLUB FAIR AT LUNCH
Who: EVERYONE
What: Lunch + Club Fair
When: End of the 2nd week of School
Where: Lunchroom and Courtyard
BASKETBALL
He didn't even have to set up the table, he was just forced to stay at it when he wasn't eating lunch. So. He kind of just sat behind the table. Glaring.
Seriously, fuck basketball.
Re: BASKETBALL
I mean, not really, but being at school wasn't really the best part of his day. He didn't want to be there when he had to be, let alone after he had to be.
All the other sports seemed...pretty intense. Football had Clint's mom as the coach and granted Elliot didn't know much but he knew well enough not to screw around with her...so that was out. He'd honestly never heard shit about the basketball team. They were probably bad. And wouldn't have practice a lot?? (( Really that's not the best logic there, Elliot...being bad means more practice, but ok....))
" Heeeyyyy, soo, basketball, huh. " Elliot leaned on the table a little. Shit he didn't know Toivo's name at all.
Re: BASKETBALL
"Are you interested in joining? The basketball team could use someone quick on their feet," Toivo said, trying to sound at least a little bit flattering.
Re: BASKETBALL
But I mean if this nerd looking kid was on the team, even with Elliot, they wouldn't be a good team.
Re: BASKETBALL
Oh, wow. This kid was even shorter than he thought. Seriously, this kid was at least a foot shorter than him. "If you sign up, we can send you information on tryouts and when practice is."
Re: BASKETBALL
He stood up a little straighter, so he wasn't leaning on the table. It didn't really give him that much more height.
" Do you have a lotta practices?? "
Re: BASKETBALL
He pushed the paper closer to Elliot, holding the pen out to him. "You should sign up."
Re: BASKETBALL
" Hooowww.....long are the practices. "
Re: BASKETBALL
"But, everyone who's on the team is pretty nice. It's a good way to meet people and make friends." Toivo smiled a little, hoping to convince the Elliot to sign the goddamn papers. He was now pressing the paper and pen against the back of Elliot's hands.
Re: BASKETBALL
Hmmmmm.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
He scrawled his name (which honestly looked like shit. ) on one of the lines, before sliding the paper back over.
"I mean, i can quit if it's not up my alley right. "
Re: BASKETBALL
"What does this say? I can't read this."
Re: BASKETBALL
" Daevin. " He huffed a little, " But I go by Elliot, but you need my """real""" name. "
Re: BASKETBALL
"I'll see you at practice then. And probably around school." He sounded honestly grateful that Elliot had signed up, and smiled widely.

to steal candy and trinketsof getting a signature from every. single. one.Even that surly looking guy sitting by himself.
Especially that surly looking guy sitting by himself.
Because leaving him alone would require minding her own business.
And that's just not in her nature.
"You look mad." She said. It comes out sort of garbled, seeing as her mouth was stuffed with ill-gotten sweets.
Re: BASKETBALL
He didn't often get told that he looked mad. More often it was 'you look afraid' or 'you look nervous' or 'we were trying to steal your roommate's desk, not yours!' He tried to relax a little. "Sorry, I just don't really want to be manning the table. Were you interested in joining basketball?"
Re: BASKETBALL
"Issit because you're cooped up behind a table? Cause that's boring. I wouldn't want to either. I don't like being bored."
Speaking of boring, there didn't look like there was anything interesting to take from this table.
But signaturrressss.
"I've never played before! Everyone always said that I was-" She reached up and pat the top of her own head, emphasizing each of the next syllables, "Too. Short." She smiled and giggled a bit, not understanding that it was usually not a friendly comment when said to her by the local kids on the neighborhood court.
Re: BASKETBALL
"As long as you can shoot a ball, it doesn't matter how tall you are," Toivo said. He grimaced a little bit at how much candy was shoved in her mouth. That was pretty gross.
"You know, you're going to get cavities if you keep eating candy like that."
Re: BASKETBALL
"Well let's find out then! It'd be exciting to try." Gemi half bends to pluck her signature card out of her shoe (she's keeping it tucked under the laces now, because of how often she needs to get it out), and looked around expectantly for the sign-up sheet.
Re: BASKETBALL
Re: BASKETBALL
"I like doing stuff! Like I said, being bored is boring." She conveniently didn't mention that the more things she had to do, the less time she had to spend alone or at home with her family. "Do you really think they'd take me if I've never played before?"
Re: BASKETBALL
He snorted a little at her last question and looked away. "They took me," he muttered under his breath. Then he looked back at her and smiled a little. "I'm sure you'll do just fine."
Re: BASKETBALL
"Okay! Does it have tryouts like the swim team? When are those gonna be?" She asked, sliding the sign up sheet and her signature card toward him.
Re: BASKETBALL
"Yeah, you have to try out, but chances are that you'll get in. Tryouts are at the end of the week, at 8." Toivo wrote his name on the signature form and then wrote the time and location of the tryouts. "Here. So you can remember."
LOL she'd totally call him toy boat
She took back the card and read the information he had written on it before tucking it back into the laces of her shoe.
"Wow! Thanks a lot!" That's super helpful! This Toivo boy is so nice.
it took ages for me to get people to pronounce it right
"And it's not a problem. Just come by if you feel like it. I'm sure you'll be able to get on the team," Toivo said. And if she got on the team and was better than him, then maybe there was enough people where he could just quit.
