Before spin the bottle at the party, Areli had managed to click with Cassidy a little about music and get his number and he flirt with him. And even better -- Cassidy didn't seem completely turned off by the flirting so. hey.
It wouldn't get Areli a date for Sadie Hawkins, which was problematic at this point, but maybe the next dance? Or something. At the very least he'd have someone to actually talk about art and music with who would actually contribute to the conversation.

Areli laid on his stomach on his bed, feet in the air while he tapped away on his phone.

Cassidy picks his phone up off bed and looked at the number he didn't recognize. He could just ignore it, but judging by the last time he did that with Alexei Vonvadnergilley it'd be best just to figure it out.

Cassidy could painfully remember pretty much everything from that night. Which, to be fair talking with Areli while going through the Soulis's music collection was probably the best part of it.

I just assumed Alexei gave out my number to someone again.

Areli cringed; he probably texted that too quickly. He couldn't tell if cassidy was making fun of him, or really honestly thought Alexei gave him the number. Because that's what Alexei did.

Cassidy could tell Areli had an iphone and didn't want to seem too quick to respond. He did the thing where you can read the text message as you get the alert and then waited a minute or two to type up a message back. Using the middle ground to think of what he wanted to say.

Yeah the Soulis family had a nicer collection than I expected.

Areli did not have a ride and knew Cassidy just had a motorcycle. But maybe he could still catch a ride with him.

Areli spend a while to get ready and look nice enough before going out to catch a bus, which was busier than he would have hoped. But the bus only runs certain times and it was either getting there half an hour early or getting there after three, so Areli ends up getting there early and has to meander around downtown and get a coffee, just so it doesn't seem like he got there as early as he did. (and he couldn't just get himself a coffee because that would be sort of rude right??)
So far trying to get a date with this kid was a lot of effort.

Once it was finally closer to 3, Areli slipped back over to Bar None to wait for Cassidy.

Cassidy rides up on his black crotch rocket exactly 4 minutes late. He had actually been parked a few blocks away after getting his shopping done sooner than he would have thought. Admittedly he did spend 40 minutes trying on slightly different pairs of black jeans before picking the pair he wanted.

He parks right up next to the curve and pulls off the helmet, hoping his hair didn't look too weird from wearing it. Honestly it was a constant hazard and it's not like he didn't have a ton of practice fixing it with one hand. He puts the kickstand up and locks the front wheel.

"Hey."

" Hey, " Areli stood up from leaning on the wall and offered him the second coffee, " I guessed what you might like, Sorry. "

Looking at the bike, it probably would be hard to fit two people on it, but still.
"How was the library? "

Cassidy's eyebrows raised when he was offered the coffee. "T-thank you. That's really ni-How much do I owe you?"

Areli laughed, but covered his mouth to not laugh at him too much. Cassidy was sure nothing like Clint, that was for sure. " What? No, my treat. C'mon, don't worry about it. "


This was probably the biggest music store around that they could get to in a reasonable amount of time. Areli came here pretty often to sift through music and try and find new things.
" What kind of music do you normally like?? "

Cassidy would just slip a 5 dollar bill in Areli's pocket when he wasn't paying attention later. Or offer to buy a CD for him. He didn't want this friendship to start off with him owing Areli money of all things.

"That's not a fair question." Cassidy rolls his eyes like a fucking teenage boy. "How would you answer that?"

He frowns. " Well. "

Okay, fair point, Cassidy.

" Well, I don't know. I'd like to think I listen to music for a different merit than most people. Most people limit themselves to a genre, you know. For instance: I haven't heard the football team listen to anything other than top 40 or 90's pop. "

Cassidy sighs "That about sums them up. But at least this year everyone can pick a song for a playlist."

NEW CONVERSATION

After Areli had helped Cassidy pick out a football theme song he was slowly realizing he was actually enjoying himself a little bit. At least he already gave out the fact he was kind of a huge fall out boy fan and Areli didn't completely reject him? Maybe he could keep a conversation and have it not be awkward.

"Did you come here wanting something?" Cassidy asked.

Well. Yes. But.

He shrugged, flipping through a few more CDs. "Really it was just nice to get out of the dorms, but I figured I'd try to find something new to listen to. Any suggestions?? "

He moved to another section and scanned up and down before coming back over to Areli "I don't exactly know your music taste but I saw these guys a few months ago. They're not much for recordings all their music is meant to be preformed live and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to"

Cassidy hands over twenty one pilots and vessel to Areli.

Areli takes the CD but is paying more attention to Cassidy again at this point. " Oh, man. You know you should let me know the next time you're going to a concert or something. I haven't been to one in a while, " Really, they were typically more expensive than Areli could actually afford, but he really did try going when he could. Also most the time he didn't have a ride.
" I'd be nice going with someone. Most of the people I know wont go with me. "

"Yeah sure. Usually Oliver and I go if it's something his pretentious tastes can tolerate. Clint and Cameron and their friends too..."

Cassidy fixes his hair with one hand. God he should have brought a bandana or something to deal with this.

Areli glances through the CDs for a little while longer, making some comments about certain artists to Cassidy or oh this one song was pretty good but he didn't really feel it fit in with the rest of that one album or something.

" Did you eat while at the Library?? "

"No. Why, are you hungry?" Cassidy was holding a couple of CDs in his hand by now. Looking pretty excited with his finds. He'd even gotten some good suggestions from Areli.

Areli had his one new CD. He'd already bought coffee, and doubted that Cassidy was going to buy him lunch, and really didn't have that much expendable income. He had to pick which one he wanted pretty carefully.

Honestly this was as close as he was going to get to Cassidy asking to get lunch, so it was good enough.
