Where: dorms / local music shop

Before spin the bottle at the party, Areli had managed to click with Cassidy a little about music and get his number and he flirt with him. And even better -- Cassidy didn't seem completely turned off by the flirting so. hey.
It wouldn't get Areli a date for Sadie Hawkins, which was problematic at this point, but maybe the next dance? Or something. At the very least he'd have someone to actually talk about art and music with who would actually contribute to the conversation.

Areli laid on his stomach on his bed, feet in the air while he tapped away on his phone.

Areli stopped and turned to look at him, confused.

" Wait, back up. "Us" as in you're on the football team now, or...? "

Cassidy stopped and looked over at him and raised an eyebrow "I always have been...Freshman don't play very often and my mom wanted me to watch and remember what Clint was doing wrong so I would do better than him this year."

" News to me. " he thumbed through a couple CDs, trying to look a little less interested than he was. " What, so you're backup quarterback, then? I guess we're going to need some new cheers this year. "

"Julian and I are stepping up to take his place while he plays something he's better at." Cassidy was taking a look at their my chem collection but put it back, he's way more of a fall out boy kid. "So no. Not back up."

" Really?? No one tells me anything, damn. Maybe we'll make it to state this year then, "
Areli nudges Cassidy playfully.

Not quite good enough friends with this guy yet to give him a punch in the side back. Areli also looked like the type that would bruise easily.

"Clint wants to win state this year, and I think Mom does more." He looks away, embarrassed. Like usual. Talking about himself always made Cassidy extremely uncomfortable.

"Did you say you were a cheerleader?"

Good change the topic quick.

Areli bruises if you touch him a little too hard, let alone getting punched. Probably a safe move, Cassidy.

He nods, turning his full attention back to Cassidy. Areli, on the other hand, enjoyed talking about himself.
" Mhm. It's how I know your brother and the rest of the football team. I joined my freshman year, too. "

The football team had never even mentioned Areli before.

"I didn't peg you for the cheerleading type." Cassidy admits "You seem more interested in music and art to me"

Unlike his brother, cassidy was actually pretty good at reading people.

He wasn't necessarily friends with the football team but they at least knew eachother. For the most part.

" Well. True. Music and art aren't really the most sociable of after school things, though. No one wants to go out music shopping for an hour, they just want to get whatever CD they wanted and go. "

" Cheerleading is sociable though. "

"Sorry to disappoint you then." Cassidy has always been a pretty snarky person. Hopefully Areli didn't take it the wrong way. Shit he should have been more careful.

Areli smiles and rolls his eyes. "Yeah such a huge disappointment.Cute football player that'll listen to good music."
"We've got to pick a good song for your theme then, you know."

What? Cute? Areli was just talking about someone else.

"Clint suggested to pick from a band that I like, but I don't think I can own up to Fall Out Boy's new singles and Sugar We're Going Down is the opposite of what this is supposed to be"

Now FOB wasn't Areli's go to but he stayed on top of new releases and he's listen to them on occasion.

" What? Of course you can own up to it. Besides, isn't the point of it to scare the other team? "

Ugh god was this guy complimenting him? He could feel imself starting to get embarrassed and it wasn't like it would be hard to tell if he was blushing when Areli was standing so close to him. Cassidy pointedly looked down at the Save Rock and Roll album.

"I was thinking My Songs know what you did in the dark, you know the light em up song That's been on the radio lately? Unless you have a better idea."

Honestly how was this kid related to the other Calloway when he gets so embarrassed over a couple compliments?? Piece of work.

Areli leaned over a little closer to look at the back of the album.

"Yeah, yeah. That would be good...Pheonix would be pretty good too. More intimidating. "

Cassidy rubbed at his forehead, so distressed over picking the perfect fall out boy song that Areli being in his personal space wasn't even a problem.

"This is impossible, and if I don't pick Clint will let Easton do it"

"I promise I won't." Cassidy puts the albums back "I think I'll go with Pheonix. Thanks for helping me with that... It's been weighing on me for a while."

" At least they'll have one good song in the mix. "
