Where: dorms / local music shop

Before spin the bottle at the party, Areli had managed to click with Cassidy a little about music and get his number and he flirt with him. And even better -- Cassidy didn't seem completely turned off by the flirting so. hey.
It wouldn't get Areli a date for Sadie Hawkins, which was problematic at this point, but maybe the next dance? Or something. At the very least he'd have someone to actually talk about art and music with who would actually contribute to the conversation.

Areli laid on his stomach on his bed, feet in the air while he tapped away on his phone.

"No. Why, are you hungry?" Cassidy was holding a couple of CDs in his hand by now. Looking pretty excited with his finds. He'd even gotten some good suggestions from Areli.

Areli had his one new CD. He'd already bought coffee, and doubted that Cassidy was going to buy him lunch, and really didn't have that much expendable income. He had to pick which one he wanted pretty carefully.

Honestly this was as close as he was going to get to Cassidy asking to get lunch, so it was good enough.

"Do you want to get some food?" Cassidy asked, moving to get in line at the register.

" I'd like that" Areli followed behind him, digging out his wallet while he walked.
" I haven't gone out for a while; It'll be a nice change from school food, that's for sure. "

"Put that away." Cassidy said noticing Areli opening up his wallet. He quickly swipes the CD right out of Areli's hand and puts it in front of the cashier. "These four."

After paying he hands the CD back to Areli as they exit the Music store.

Okay so it's not buying lunch but hey. Unexpected. He dropped his wallet back in his bag.

" You didn't have to."

"You bought me coffee earlier. I owed you" Cassidy smiled? Smirked? Something in between that. His smile was always a little crooked.

"Where do you want to go to eat?"

Areli smiled back and headed for the door. Damn. Cassidy was being cute. Areli was also having a pretty nice time and having a nice cute date like this in between getting rejected by every football player for the dance was a nice change of pace.

" I heard that the cafe down the street has a really good panini. The Tiamelt or something? "

Cassidy nodded and held the door for Areli. "Yeah that works for me. Know how to get there?"

" Yeah, this way, " Areli grabbed onto his arm, tugging Cassidy along. " Come on. "

Were people always this touchy? Were his friends just the one group that didn't constantly grab onto, or knock into each other? Or was Areli just not great at personal space. It was probably Areli. But that sure as hell didn't stop how he kinda jerked a little bit at the sudden grab before letting Areli tug him along to the store.


And then i assume they ate food and talked and both had a good time etc etc

They had some really good paninis or something.

Honestly by then it was getting kind of later into the evening. Areli had managed to convince Cassidy to stay with him at the bus stop. Which wasn't hard.

" This was fun, " And honestly it was. He got new music, had a good lunch/supper. Cassidy and him actually had a lot of shared interests which honestly was a change of pace for Areli.
" Thanks for waiting with me, "

Cassidy nodded "Sorry you've got to take the bus back. I was a dick for not offering to take it with you in the first place"

" It's no big deal, "
Okay so the bus being a few blocks down didn't give Areli the chance to really have the best timing in the world, but honestly this was probably as good a time as any.
Areli grabbed onto Cassidy's hand and gave him a small kiss on the lips, which would be a totally normal thing to do on a nice successful date like this, normally.

No no no no oh god no this couldn't- Areli didn't- He couldn't- he took a step back after the initial shock wore off.

"I d-didn't...." fuck he couldn't even look at Areli standing there. "i didn't realize this was a... was a.... d-date"

God he was bright red and he knew it and fucking shit Areli was still holding his hand! Fuck he should have known it was obvious he was sucha n asshole oh fuck oh fuck.

Areli did let go of his hand once he was done stammering, and let his head tilt to the side. Honestly, Areli was trying hard to process how it couldn't have been a date. Sure, the possibility was there but, normally friends go out and do this if it's not a date, and Cassidy didn't even really know who Areli was before the party. It was a stretch to say they were friends.

" Oh. " He bit his lip.
" I mean, but that's not that big of a deal, right? You still had fun. "

Cassidy looked horribly embarrassed. Like the wow that's actually kind of painful the way he clenched himself up.

"Yeah I guess-fuck" He was fumbling in his pocket for his keys "Fuck I ruined this. I gotta go."

And with that Cassidy glances up at Areli before turning to leave around the corner and head to his bike. He was going to die.

Cassidy was gone around the corner before Areli had the chance to really say anything else. He just shifts a little and slips on the bus when it stops.
