[LOG] The Annual LaDonna Drink Night
Who: Bianca and Doris, along with other higher class families
What: A liquor family like the LaDonnas is bound to have nights for free samples, or general brand promotion. A formal dress event, where families of prestige and their children are free to familiarize themselves with the LaDonna family and drink.
When: Sometime mid-winter, on a friday evening
Where: LaDonna mansion, outside of school.
This party happened every year, and with each year the number of attendees seemed to grow. Usually Doris shrugged off this event. Not enough people brought their kids with them, and she had quickly learned the consequences of getting fresh with those older than her. Maybe this year wouldn't be so boring. It was nice, at least, that her parents let her drink at this event.
Both Doris and Bianca are on the main floor, dressed most definitely to impress. Both daughters are expected to be social butterflies tonight, but so far Doris has been off to the side, emptying and refilling her drinking glass. Bianca is covering a lot of the floor, trying to make sure she greets every new guest that comes in.

ENTRANCE
MAIN FLOOR
Re: MAIN FLOOR
He had ordered a drink of the LaDonna family's specialty bourbon to be polite; he had hardly touched it. While he was of age, his personal preference leaned quite sharply away from hard liquors, and he found the idea of being "drunk" entirely unappealing.
So there he was, standing off to the side, scoping out people who looked potentially interesting, or at least useful.
And that was when he saw Doris and nearly dropped his glass.
Re: MAIN FLOOR
She glanced to his glass, raising a brow. "Maybe I was right in that assumption."
YAAAS I GET TO USE THIS ICON.
"'Fun' is hardly the word I would use for it." He looked down into his glass and swirled the contents. The ice was just beginning to melt. "But you would assume correctly. This isn't particularly the type of event at which I...shall we say 'excel'."
"My father was more enthusiastic about coming here than I was." He glared across the room at an older blond man, as he spoke. In what could be written off as an act of spite he raised his glass to his lips and threw back a good portion of it, hiding a grimace as it went down.
I need to make more icons
She took a long sip from her drink, and stared at Lawrence's now partially-empty glass. She did a small pout as she glanced back up. "Y'know, we're outside of school now. Lying to me is unnecessary, especially about drinking." She leaned forward a bit, as if trying to get a closer look at him. "You certainly didn't order that just to make me smile."
Re: I need to make more icons
"And as with the last time we spoke, you are misinterpreting my words. Nothing that I have said has been untrue."
Re: I need to make more icons
She drank the last contents of her glass, trying to fix her bangs with her free hand. "Pure honesty is a very hard thing to act out, y'know. In the meantime..." She raised her glass, swirling the ice with a loose shake. "...how about a refill? I'll get you something better than that last one."
Re: I need to make more icons
"After you, Miss LaDonna." He said dryly.
BAR AREA
Re: BAR AREA
Once arrived, she took a seat, setting her glass and the bottle down. "I know this may be a more formal event, but I do believe we're more on a first name basis." She refilled her glass, waiting for Lawrence to sit down before she would refill his. "Unless you'd rather have me call you Mister Levvy. It does have a...certain ring to it."
oh my god hE'S GONNA SAY IT.
"Mister Levvy is my father, so no, I would rather you did not." He let the glare continue for another few moments, unblinking, before his gaze slipped down to the bottle on the table.
"So now what alcoholic boon have you brought me over here for?"
no subject
"I'll not call you by that name then. My apologies. Surnames can really get t'ya." She sighed. "I'm still not fully used to mine." She raised the glass to her mouth and took a long sip, shifting to sit more upright. "But there are better things to talk about, yeah?"
no subject
It was rather quite good. He let out a small noise of appreciation.
"Well one day the title is going to be mine, so I'll unfortunately have to get use to it at some point..." 'But not now.' He thought to himself.
He politely avoids asking how she could not be "used to" her own last name, instead picking up on her last comment. There were indeed always better things to talk about than family. Such as all the other people readily at hand.
"Who all are our fellow esteemed guests?" He asked, carefully enunciated every word.
That last drink might have hit him a bit harder than he'd like to admit.no subject
"Not a lotta people our age, that's for sure." She leaned from her seat, grabbing the bottle and refilling Lawrence's glass. "The Stevensons for sure. Mister Levington is bound to show up, hopefully with a better tie than las' year." She took another sip, licking her lips. "They just kinda invite anyone they know, really. They probably invited the Jovinis again." She laughed, shaking her head. "Maybe the esteemed daughter will show this year, if I'm lucky."
She leaned back into her seat with a small sigh. "I doubt it, though. Not enough interestin' people stop by." Her gaze turned back to Lawrence. "But that doesn't mean everyone lacks appeal."
no subject
He didn't entirely pick up on her hint of 'not everyone lacking appeal' and that may or may not have been because things were starting to get a little fuzzy. The LaDonna's liquor was surprisingly strong
and not at all because he was a lightweight. He set his glass down a bit more heavily than necessary and stared into it.
UPSTAIRS
Re: UPSTAIRS
But Issa was there, dressed somewhat nicely. They quickly slipped away from the party and found the small library, which was way less populated, so thats where they decided to make themselves comfortable.
