[log] Sadie Hawkins' Dance
WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: The long-anticipated Sadie Hawkins' dance!
WHEN: Friday night after school!
WHERE: The school gym!

Meekus put his hands on his hips, looking around the gym with satisfaction. The streamers looked great, the DJ was queuing up his first song, the refreshment table was stocked, and the teachers chaperoning looked...well, not happy to be there exactly but at least resigned to watching teenagers grind on each other all night. The students were lined up outside the gym to get in. Time to open the doors!

GYM DOOR
Let's get this started
She donned a dark teal strapless dress, which ended about mid-thigh with a wavy shape to the material.
She glanced to her date, assessing how he was taking all of this. "Have you been to a lot of dances, Toivo? I imagine someone like you would get asked by all kinds of people." A small giggle escaped from behind her smile. "I guess it's good I nabbed you early, yeah?"
Re: Let's get this started
He started at her question, and he looked away quickly. "Uh, no, actually. I don't really..." he started, but then stopped. Maybe he should just give her a half-truth, so he doesn't seem nearly as lame as he actually is. "I've just never really wanted to go to a school dance before." Not a lie. But he never got asked out, either.
Re: Let's get this started
Her smile changed slightly, becoming a bit more sly, sneakier in appearance. "We're going to have a great night together, you'll see. I'll be making sure of it."

where dem boys at
Re: where dem boys at
He was over talking to some of the football guys by the food, and not like he was waiting for Lia or anything like that of course not, but he did see her come in and tried to wave her over.
Re: where dem boys at
"You should wear those jeans more often," she said by way of an opening statement. Always aim to be a little shocking.
his sister dressed him
He began fussing at his shirt. Diedrich had never worn a bow tie before either. Man, he hoped he looked okay!
why this
Pajea had managed to calm her shaking a bit as she approached her....date. She had tried before in convincing herself that this was just an outing between two classmates, but to no avail. He looked pretty nice to her, though. Pajea found her face aching slightly as a smile tugged at her cheeks. Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as she feared it would be.
"Diedrich! It's good to...see...I'm glad you....Y-you look...." She panicked, trying to think of what to say. "I-I....Hi."
Nice one.

Re: GYM DOOR
He picked at his clothes a little. Julian helped him get dressed in something a little nicer. More muted colors compared to his normal clothes. Well fit.
He pulled out his phone to check the time for about the 50th time before realizing he probably ought to just text her.
Hey...um...this is Issa. Am I picking you up??? For the dance.

Hey Issa! Nah I'm already there. Did you want me to pick you up ;) ?

Harper was pretty hopeful for tonight. Sure he didn't come with a date or dress up too much, but he was here!! It was his senior year he had to at least go to one dance. And what wasn't a school dance without refreshments.
One less potential for disaster that's for sure. While walking over Harper gets bumped by a passing student, right into Dagney with enough force to knocker her over.
[I'm not rolling for anything. He fails we all know this. ]

TABLES TO THE SIDE
time to hide
"Uh would you like a drink? It looked like they had some cookies over there too!"
this is (sorta) fine
"That sounds nice. Would you...Would you like me to go with you, then?" She did seem a bit calmer though, in hanging out with him.

DANCE FLOOR
OUTSIDE THE GYM/BACK ENTRANCE
Re: OUTSIDE THE GYM/BACK ENTRANCE
Fair only brought half a pack of cigarets and was very quickly starting to remember how he never actually attended one of these dances as a student. In fact he stood in this exact same spot smoking and not dancing when he was in highschool. And here he was. Repeating that as an adult. Wow what a shitty realization.
He lit up one more.
Re: OUTSIDE THE GYM/BACK ENTRANCE
He'd dressed up slightly better, in that his clothes fit a little better than normal. Which would have been ok if they weren't all wrinkled and a little scuffed up from climbing the fence.
Elliot figured he was all in the clear and there wouldn't be anyone in the back entrance but hey when he turned the corner he just about ran into Fair.
