[log] Why Are You Even Here, School Just Started
Who: Havi & whoever has a reason to be there
What: bothering Havi at his volunteer job
When: Thursday evenings, after classes
Where: the DN library
The Dice North library had a very, very extensive collection of books and records - even some extremely dated editions that really should not be taken seriously in this day and age. (Havi had made sure to dispose of the especially contradictory books - not that anyone was actually aware of this.) As usual, Havi could (possibly?) be found (if you knew where to look?) somewhere amongst the shelves; usually spending his volunteer hours helping himself as opposed to the actual visitors.
He had only factored a two hour time-slot at the tutoring center into his schedule this semester - (his parents insisted he had at least a certain amount of volunteer hours this year, and he had a pretty good amount clocked in for last semester) - but due to classes literally just starting, he assumed he was free to do his own thing for at least a few weeks.
He did still have to show up, however - just in case someone was having issues with their first assignments. (Which are never more than "tell us about yourself" and "read the syllabus," so let's hope no one's actually having trouble with that.)

"Look, I need help finding some books..." Obviously, Landon mentally kicked himself. "About How-tos... crafting... building... crap. Is there a section for that?" Nailed it. Eloquent as per usual.

Havi led Landon past a few empty rows (empty of students; not of books) until they reached the appropriate section. The school didn't have a lot to choose from, so the shelf was a mix of crafts, how-to's, and self-help books. Also a ... Calvin & Hobbes collection, apparently. He snagged the thick issue off the shelf, already mentally mapping his way to the comics section.
"And the craft you're looking for is ..?" Havi addressed the student, but kept his eyes scanning the shelf.

"Mmm. Well, sewing? ah... Maybe leather making? I don't know. Kinda like how to make some armor for under your cloths, that's sorta easy to move in, but still thick enough to keep you... uh, safe. I guess." Totally not a weird thing to be looking up. Totally normal. Act fine.

"I wouldn't take you for a larper." He raised his eyebrows and leaned his hip against the shelf.

Besides he had left his weeaboo hell days back in middle school. Which included running around the park with a sword. Middle school. ... Okay and maybe last summer. Not like he missed doing that, or anything.
Biting his lip piercing he cast his eyes to the bookshelf Havi leaned on. "Well... Don't... judge a book by it's cover?" Sounded more like a question than a statement. Goddammit act normal.
"I'm surprised you know the term." At least that sounded more confident.
IM BRINGIN THIS BACK IF U WANT BUT FEEL FREE TO IGNORE
With a dismissing wave of his hand, Havi awkwardly glanced up at one of the surrounding shelves. Of course he knew the term, but he wasn't about to be embarrassed in front of someone else who knew it as well.
"Are you really surprised? I'm friends with one of the nerdiest people in the school." Best friends, but Havi thought that always seemed unnecessary to tack on.
