Every new year the Dice North Student Council organizes a massive Carnival for all the students, teachers, parents and neighborhood! Every club and sports team ran an event and did their very best to make money for the spring semester. The anime club had even run a maid cafe one year how bout that!

It's a joyous event that even lets kids out of school all day friday to set up for. The entire front lawn of the school was covered in tents and games and streamers. People from the neighborhood and some eager freshman stood waiting by the ticket office. It was all calm and quiet until the clock tower in the courtyard chimed noon everyone can here the much much louder shout of Clinton Calloway's megaphone "WELCOME TO THE 2015 DICE NORTH CARNIVAL"

Areli rolled his eyes, still not 100% sure on what Gutter was doing. Pretty sure neither of them knew what Gutter was doing at this point.

"Well I like candlelit dinners with cute boys, too. We might have to compromise, the long walks might be out of the question."

"Hmmm. And pina coladas" he reached behind him "how about getting caught in the rain?"

Gutter defintiely 100% just pulled out a small hand water gun and shot Areli a few times for a punchline.

He gave up trying to get back ont he seat for a moment, opting to just leaning on the side edge of the tank and standing in the water. Which was by this point at least not too nippy.

"Well, I'm free whenever you are,"
Which really wasn't true, because there was football and also work, and school. But Lia had volleyball and school and...presumably work?? So....maybe?

He recoiled and quickly reached to try and shove Gutter out of his chair or slap the squirtgun away or something. Where did he even get that. And why. God damnit Gutter.

"Stooopp!! " Which was more whiney than he intended to come off, but.

Cassidy didn't even want to use the tickets he earned from the booth on food, but it was either that or go hungry. He picked up a sand which, and fuck it, some free mints too. He was going to go find a nice tree or something to go (hide) sit by when he turned around and was face to face with Nifty.

Less face to face, Nifty had at least 6" of height on him (not that he knew it was exactly 6 1/2").

"I'm allowed to take breaks, Doris offered to sub in, and um, a lot of people will want to kiss her. She'll be making us more money this way"

Fuck he was in trouble his break wasn't schedule for another hour.

Helen quickly made her way over, looking excited to now have something to do. It was getting to be a bit much watching Areli flirt with every boy that showed up to their station.

"You called? Ah-- hey there, Mr. Gould! Nice of you to stop by!" She chirruped, tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ear.

Gutter was full on laughing but still gave Areli a few extra squirts as he was getting batted at.

"Don't worry I made sure not to get your hair so you wouldn't have to go straighten it. Dunno how long that will last tho, you are working a car wash and there are a lot of hoses and buckets sitting around"

7. Montgomery Modestly $60

Monty walked past Toivo leaving into gym to add his name again.

Link walked up to the booth and looked around. Wow, this was so cool!! And they had that song from Kingdom Hearts playing too! This sounded way better than hot dogs!

... oh right Aislin wasn't here, he'd have to talk to them himself.

"U-um... e-excuse me? Can I g-get a table?"

He was already wanting to run and hide.

7. Link Nichols - $32

Doris raised a brow. "That depends on the quality you're looking for, I'd say. You're the one paying for it, after all. I'll make it worth your while."

" Shut up! I don't have to go straighten it-- " Which, he did. And knew he would have to regardless, but still felt the need to defend himself.

Areli at that point just grabbed onto the water gun to at least direct it away from him.

" Why don't you go be an asshole back in your shitty dunk tank. "

This was completely and utterly the most embarrassing thing Toivo Kissa had ever done in his entire life. Tanum kept telling him it was required that all club members work as a server at their booth. And, yes, all active club members were there. Tanum also told him it was required that they had to be in uniform. They had to look nice. The uniform had to fit.

(The pants were too short. The pants had been too short, why had the pants been too short why where his goddamn legs so long why was he in a fucking MAID OUTFIT THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE--)

Toivo tried to ignore the eyes of anyone who he served tea to. He just had to make it through his shift, and then go in his dorm and hide for a week until everyone forgot about him serving people tea in a maid outfit (and matching headband) to the entire school. Just. Make it through the shift.

Hm. Usually girls would giggle and throw water back at him at this point. This was. Hm. He misjudged.

"Shit I-" Gutter put the squirtgun backinto the waist band of his pants. "Look I'm only teasing you. Do you have any idea how often I have to avoid chlorine pools? Haha. I can't even get my hair to look nearly as good as yours"

8. Toivo Kissa $62

(The new video game he wanted was about the same price, so it's either get this or the game.)

Should she go up to the booth and talk to him? Nah, that might be weird... But he waved back! He might want to talk to her.

...Then again, she didn't want to distract him while he was in the middle of... uh, working... but she was new to the area and hadn't had the chance to really talk to anyone yet. He was in her class, and well, what better time to get to know someone than the carnival! Okay it might be pretty weird to get to know someone at a kissing booth but you know what!!

She got in line.

He slouched down in his chair, pointedly looking at the table and avoiding Gutter at this point. He wasn't sure if he should be embarrassed about being teased, or embarrassed that Gutter was only joking around. This school's football team was awful.

Complimenting his hair helped a little. It's petty but effective.

"It looks good. Your hair, I mean. It's a good dye. And you can put some extra conditioner in your hair before going in a pool, it'll help against the chlorine. "

Of course it would be a maid cafe. This was the anime club. Could anyone really expect less from them?
Pajea was tempted to just walk past it, but it was a familiar face that caused her to stay.
Ah, yes. The guy that slept with her ex-girlfriend. The one she was in cross country with.
Kissa.

She silently took a seat, neatly setting her arms on the table and staring at him. She didn't call him over, or say anything for that matter. She just. Waited.

Gutter pats him on the back a little roughly. "Hey now cheer up. You know you gotta always have a smile or something as a cheerleader. Or to make any money in a care wash to be honest."

Toivo often felt like people were staring at him. Usually it was because he was obnoxiously tall and skinny. But it hardly ever felt like this. Never did it feel like death itself was trying to climb into his body through the gaze of someone else. He didn't even know why she was glaring at him so much! Or, like. All the time. She glared at him a lot.

He spent as long as he could avoiding looking at Pajea and doing menial tasks at the food station. But he could only stand around for so long.

Taking a deep breath, he turned and walked over to the girl with weird hair. He smiled nervously and said, "H-hi. Can I get you... anything? It's five tickets for a snack, t-ten tickets for a maid or host to serve you." He honestly was surprised that he stuttered only twice and his voice cracked only once.

" Yeah. "

Honestly he wasn't too worried about making money in the car wash. Because it was all going to the school and Areli only had so much school pride. He had gotten a cute boys phone number earlier though, at least.
He took a couple more moments to sit and mope before tucking his hair back behind his ears and sitting up a little bit more.

" Well now you have to stay and help. To make up for that. "

Without breaking her stare, Pajea reached into her pockets and slapped down ten tickets on the table.
"Ah, wait. That's. That's not where these belong. My mistake." She collected them in both hands and silently tucked the two lines of tickets into the waistband of the maid dress' apron.

"Much better." She turned to face him more, resting both elbows on the table and cupping her face with her gangly, pale hands.
"Some tea, then. Make it snappy."

Toivo gaped at her as she slid the tickets into his waistband, feeling ashamed for an unidentifiable reason. "I-I." He closed his mouth and finally met Pajea's eyes.

He swallowed thickly and said, "Yes, of course. I... I'll go get that for you."

There was only so long that Toivo could stall as he made the tea, but he stretched it as long as he possibly could. He... He wasn't really sure what Pajea was after, but he knew she wasn't paying ten tickets because she thought he was cute.

After a minute or so, he returned to the table with the tea. "Here you go. Do you have a host you'd like to request...?" He asked on the off chance that she didn't actually want him to be spending time with her. Please.

Gutter rolls his eyes and squirts Areli again.

"You're trying awfully hard to get me out of my clothes and working for you. down on my hands and knees scrubbing"

He really hasn't stopped smiling and laughing trough out the entire exchange

Call him an opportunist, but there was nothing about this situation Adrien could resist.

So what if the money went to the team that booted him.

He bought 3 rounds...Probably not the wisest use of his cash, but currently the most satisfying.

There he was, hovering above the water, plain as day, literally asking for people to chuck a ball at him. -- Well shit. Gutter was already soaked

Whatever. He’d have his turn.

At least he’s participating

“You wanna move?” he called out to the chick next to his target, one hand tossed the ball in the air and caught it as the other motioned for the interference to scram.
