Indeed the earnest behavior is painful to look at, but for Rory he's struggling to make it clear he wasn't planning on joining. "W-well I mean if you think I'd be great sure Captain, but...really I don't think it would work out. I mean, I'm so short, not football material at all, haha..." he didn't want to insult Clint's compliment, but the problem was he really wasn't super interested.
