Cassidy was sure he heard that wrong. Infact, he was so sure the announcer said Clinton that he just continued copying down Mr. Trosky's notes on The Things They Carried. Cassidy glanced up to read he next session and saw Mr. Trosky standing at his desk handing him a hall pass.
He had no idea what this was about. Last he checked he had ever assignment turned in, was holding steady B's in all of his classes, and he fight with Elliot was forever ago! There had to be something he had forgotten, something he had messed up bad enough to be called out infront of the whole school for the second time in a month.
Cassidy slowed to a stop just outside the main office. How had he gotten here so quickly? He could still just turn around and go to the bathroom. Keep stalling, give himself more time to prepare-
He took a deep breath and walked in. Maybe this could be something good for once.....
Calhoun was leaning on the receptionist's desk, casually chatting when Cassidy entered. When he saw Cassidy, he straightened, and said calmly, "Cassidy. Who are your two best friends right now?"
He glanced over to the other administrator's doors, seeming to check if they were in.
"Because you don't become principal and get on the district board to not take Friday off with your son once and a while."
Calhoun threw a black duffel to Cassidy. There were a few pairs of dark jeans, a smattering of flannels and black tee shirts, and a toiletries bag. There were also Cassidy's riding boots and spurs.
"The rest is already packed, as well as food, and enough for two more people. So name them, and they're coming."
Cassidy couldn't help but smile at that one. Okay the announcement was still a little much but "Um, Oliver and Aerika I guess but I don't know how they'd do with all of this."
Calhoun shouldered his bag, picking up the microphone to the loudspeaker. "They'll learn." he said sporting a grin, knowing as well as Cassidy how funny it would probably be to watch them ride for their first times.
"Would Oliver and Aerika please report to the principles office immediately. Bring your bags."
Calhoun's grin widened. "That should get them moving."
Oliver didn't envy Cassidy at all for having the principal for a father. Not that there was anything wrong with Mr. Calhoun, but getting called out to come to your dad's office during the middle of school is a bit embarrassing...
But lo and behold, just a few minutes later Oliver hears his own name over the loudspeaker.
What??
He can't imagine what business the principal has with him but hey, Oliver isn't exactly attached to the current lecture being given by his history professor.
He shoves his stuff in his bag, swings it over one shoulder and heads out the door, giving the class a little salute. He makes his way over to the principal's office and gives the door a slight knock as he opens it.

"Thanks Dad" he said quietly, looking down at the bag.
