[LOG] WE SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT WE ARE UP TO NO GOOD
WHO: Nate and Strad
WHAT: Plotting
WHEN: Period 4 (skipping class woohoo)
WHERE: On the roof of Dorm Building B
After lunch, Nate made his way to the roof of Dorm Building B to wait for Strad. Between the two of them they had some very important details to discuss. Admittedly he was a little nervous because it was the first time he and Strad ever made an attempt to hang out just the two of them, but really what could go wrong?

After lunch, Nate made his way to the roof of Dorm Building B to wait for Strad. Between the two of them they had some very important details to discuss. Admittedly he was a little nervous because it was the first time he and Strad ever made an attempt to hang out just the two of them, but really what could go wrong?

He smiled at Strad, "Do you like fireworks?"
no subject
Strad held up a hand and began to count off the types of fireworks as he talked. "Flash fireworks? Bang fireworks? Whistling fireworks? Pretty fireworks? Fireworks that are more like legal bombs? Fireworks that your neighbor sets off in the middle of August and everyone is pissed that they're woken up because who the hell lights fireworks after the forth of July?"
no subject
"Oh, you know. A little bit of everything. Set to a timer. In the middle of the night. From the roof of the school." He tilted his head towards Strad, "No big deal.
no subject
He grinned at him before continuing, "I like the way your head works. Can there be music? Like something loud and obnoxious and also timed perfectly to all the bands and zings? You know, Fallout Boy screeching in the distance and all that."
no subject
Laughing, he leaned back on his hands and surveyed the school grounds. He slowly nodded, "That sounds like a great idea. We could probably rig something up with the P.A. system. We would need an in though. Unless you know how to pick locks."
no subject
Strad kicked his feet a bit and threw a rock off the ledge before adding, "So let's say I can pick locks."
no subject
The rock hit the ground with a rather satisfying thunk and shatter, "Hypothetically, that is a very useful skill to have."
no subject
"But yeah, so let's say I can pick locks so we don't have to get anyone else in on this. Here's me saying it: I can pick locks." Strad let out a breath of air before adding, "Man, it sure feels good to get all these dark secrets off my chest.
no subject
"Cuz I can definitely pick locks too. "
no subject
He figured it was about time to get serious about all this though. One does not simply plan a prank all willy-nilly like and expect to get away with it. And Strad would be damned if he was getting kicked out of school because he was caught! Again.
Strad crossed his legs in front of him and rested his head on his fist, "So how are we doing this, man?"
no subject
After sitting up Nate rested his elbows upon his knees. All joking aside. He wanted to do this but he definitely didn't want to get expelled. He had done a pretty solid job thus far staying out of too much trouble at this school and he didn't really want to make this the year when he got caught.
"I know some people who make a living off of making timed systems for fireworks." Illegal fireworks but who is counting here? " They taught me a thing or two. I have the goods stored on a safe, off-site location. I figured we could program the device together so we can figure out the timing to the music and all that good stuff and I can sneak up onto the roof in the middle of the night a day or so before and set it up. I can control it from the dorms so we don't even have to be on location for this if we can rig something up for the music and have it play on it's own."
no subject
He gave Nate a thumbs up and continued, "That sounds like a solid enough plan on it's own. What made you decide to get a partner for this?""
no subject
Wow this guy was a fake-y faker. And he was good at it. That was something that Nate could appreciate in a person. At least from a professional point of view.
"Dude. Pulling pranks alone is the most boring thing ever. Also I am not good at the whole rigging up music thing so I wanted to run it by someone else and see if they had any idea as to how to do that. Just because I can get into a place where I could play it doesn't mean I would know how to get it to play without my being in the room."
He shrugged and slipped his hands into his pockets.
"Also you seem pretty chill."
no subject
Strad hummed in response as he drummed his fingers on his cheek. "Same on all accounts," he told him.
"I can rig something up no problem. It shouldn't be that hard if you have the technical know how for setting up the firework equipment," Strad shrugged at him. "Like any good performance, it's just about timing."
no subject
"So basically what you are telling me at this point is we need to make a storyboard and plan timing."
no subject
He finally managed to find a pencil and his iPod. He popped the pencil in his mouth and he set up the notebook in front of him. It took him another moment of digging through his bag to find his speakers and plug his iPod into them.
"What are you thinking?"
no subject
"I was thinking something upbeat. Something that would definitely go well with the sound of thunderous fireworks at 1am. Do you think something instrumental would work better or something with lyrics?"
no subject
"That depends," he mused, "Are we putting on a show or are we out to annoy everyone? Personally, I would rather annoy everyone."
no subject
"Definitely just annoy the hell out of everyone. For sure."
no subject

no subject
"I'm thinking we should go with something of the electronic instrumental type."
no subject
"Sounds good. I don't know too much about the genres myself. I definitely want to hear whatever songs you might be thinking of though."
no subject

no subject
"This is completely awful. It's great."
no subject
The second song was definitely more on the crud side; a different kind of horrible all together. But still a song that Strad was proud to have in the worst way possible.
no subject
"They are both gold. Completely terrible but also strangely well made." He tapped the corner of his mouth with his index finger, "I think I would have to pick the first one for this. It is seasonally fitting. We could even color coordinate."
no subject
"I'm glad we can agree on this," he singsonged. "And now! The storyboard!"
no subject
"The real question now being, do we want to story board in full color?"
no subject
He dropped his hand and picked up his notebook to begin scribbling down columns for Time, Action, and Description.
"Let's get to work, shall we?"
no subject
He let go of Strad and dug some colored pencils out of his backpack.
"Let's."
The next couple of hours were dedicated to this wonderful prank. The two of them got so engrossed in creating their storyboard that the only thing that really stopped them from continuing was the fact that the sun had gone down.
no subject
"Well, that was more fun then I thought it was going to be," he grinned at Nate. "See you next time I suppose?"
He wasn't entirely sure how to do the whole saying goodbye thing. Usually he just walked away from a conversation when he was done with it without saying anything.
no subject
"Right? Who would have known that planning out a fireworks show could be so interesting." He nodded, "Yeah. See you next time."
no subject
He turned on his heels to leave. Leaving being hanging himself off the ledge of the roof and kicking off against the wall to propel himself at a tree a bit away. He caught one of the branches on the tree and swung himself to the safety of the ground before turning to wave one last time up at Nate. A cheerful grin still on his face. He was so pumped for this prank.
He walked away after that, pulling his headphones and iPod out of his bag as he walked. He and Nate were going to have a ton of fun together, he could feel it.
