it shouldn't cost that much to replace your mirrors. but we're gonna have to hunt around in a junkyard for the missing one. may as well look for a new muffler too.
Come the weekend, Jojo had texted Julian to let him know he was ready to go hang out and fix his car. Really, Jojo didn't agree that his car really even needed to be fixed up until he was inspecting it while waiting for Julian to come get him. Okay, so maybe the driver side had scratches all down it from that time he drove a little too close to the drive-thru window. And sure, that same incident might be the reason his driver-side mirror was taped on. Honestly, there were a lot of reasons the driver-side mirror was taped on. And sure, some of the tape did go over into the mirror, and sure, maybe the mirror was really cracked and should be replaced regardless. It's not like Jojo couldn't see out of the mirror it was just....more difficult than need be. And who knows where the passenger-side mirror was. Or the muffler. Or that one back hubcap. Jojo didn't even really notice that was missing until now, actually. Where did that go?? When?? Shit.
He might not have completely agreed, but he at least acknowledged that Julian was right. The car, as much as Jojo might have liked it, was a little worse for wear. Julian couldn't let his friend roll around in something that could be easily repaired... Though a lot of the damage had to be related to Jojo's awful driving. There may have been more than one reason Julian refused to ride in Jojo's car. He just chose to blame it on the car being too small.
Jojo won't be waiting too long before Julian arrived, hopping out of his car with a notepad ready. "You ready to get to work?" He greeted his teammate with an all too chipper smile.
"Not if we find all the parts we need in the junk yard. Which is what we're gonna do today-hunt for the stuff you're missing. It's going to be a scavenger hunt more or less." Don't be so down Jojo-the junkyard can be fun. If not an experience to tell the others about.
Jojo's car is Ashley's car but purple and worse off
He seemed a little skeptical, but nodded and headed over Julian's ride. Jojo thought his own car was so much cooler that Jules', but didn't say anything. Jojo's car was totally cool. It just needed a little help is all.
...Granted, he had to admit, getting into it was a whole hell of a lot easier than getting into his own car. That was besides the point, though.
Julian didn't think his car was cool-not even a little bit. He just knew it worked because he had to fix it and make sure it worked. Those were the conditions given to him when he was allowed to bring the car with him to school. That and because he needed it to get to and from work.
He didn't follow immediately back to his car. "... Hey Jojo." Julian held up his phone facing towards Jojo's car. "Show me how to take pictures with this again."
Honestly, Jojo knew how to do things on his own phone. Sorta. He climbed back out of Julian's car and went over to look over the phone. Hm. Uhh.. Shit. " I think it's..." Jojo flipped through a menu or two before getting the camera up with a little struggle. " Haha yeah, there we go. "
Poor Issa probably spent the better part of the night trying to get Julian to understand his phone for the kid to just forget everything after he didn't use any of the features Issa showed him for a few days. He'd remember in time. Maybe.
"Thanks!" But till then he felt a little bad asking the same questions over and over. Julian took a few pictures of Jojo's car, the parts missing, the note book next to those parts for size reference, then eventually hopped back over. "Okay now we can go."
"Don't look so glum dude, this'll be fun once we find everything."
"I'm not taking your engine apart. I'm putting on a new side view mirror and hopefully a new bumper so your car doesn't look so-" much like it belongs in the junk yard "-dinged up anymore."
"It'll be fine. Plus hey maybe we'll find something weird while we're looking around too."
That seemed to perk him up. Finding something weird would be hella.
" Dude I bet we could find something really cool , " He did his seat belt, " It's gotta be able to fit in your car tho right?? But you got lots of space in here. " Yeah compared to Jojo's car.
