What: A nice family dinner
When: Immediately following a certain incident in the Braxton Market meat locker
Where: Julian's place
Navid had already made himself more than comfortable in Julian's home. Still, he could barely think of a more fitting follow up than to sandwich Julian's fidgeting discomfort directly between himself and his mother. He'd tried really hard to stifle a laugh when she extended the invitation.
"Oh no it's just good timing. I have a new recipe I've been meaning to try out," he'd countered when she'd asked what was so funny. "It's nice to have people to cook for."
Julian was able to avoid him as long as he was in the kitchen. Maybe that was for the best. Give him some time to think. All the better when Navid delivered a bowl of braised beef stew paired with a winning smile and sat directly across from him. Oswin and Payton dug in right away. He couldn't really blame them, the stew had come out really nice for such a simple dish. "So how was business today boys?" Julian's mother asked after a few slow bites. Navid was glad his spoonful of meat was already on its way up. He stuffed it in his mouth and looked expectantly at Julian.
