Issa had no idea who Piper was. Wait, did he?? Was he supposed to???

" We are??" He was so confused, were they? Was this decided already, when did he agree to this??? Issa glanced to the ground, trying to remember if he knew Piper and when he agreed to go to the dance with her.

"Yep!"

Oh Issa, you've already agreed as far as she sees. You're on a short list of guys that she knows she won't hate, largely because she knows you're Julian's roommate and they talk about you.

"Don't worry about dressing up by the way, this dance isn't a big deal. It's just supposed to be fun. You should probably give me your number too."

Issa stared at her, he was so confused.

" Uhh..." He glanced back at Julian as if that was going to help him at all. " Uh, okay..." Issa looks back at her, then went back to his desk to grab his phone, hoping to get her number as well. Once he got back to the door he just stopped.

" ..uhm... I. Have we met, though?? " Shit that was rude, wasn't it. "I mean. I guess I met a lot of people recently, I don't remember.. "

Julian by now has looked up at his book and gives a 'hey' to Piper. He's not getting up from the bed or voicing any concern though if that helps Issa.

Piper laughs heartily. "We might have seen each other in the hall or around school, but not exclusively. I've met you a few times." In passing.

"I'm Piper. I'm not in your grade so don't stress out too much about that. I was in Julian's but not anymore."

Issa fidgeted, but nodded a little. At least Julian seemed to be okay with her....and well Issa trusted Julian's opinion.

" Issa, " He realized she already knew, and rubbed his arm awkwardly. " I mean I guess you knew, uh. Hi, " Shit this was weird.


"Like as friends right???"

This was so confusing.

"Now give me your number~"

Issa was obviously embarrassed at this point, but just nods quickly and hands Piper his phone with his number pulled up so she could type it in her phone.

" Uh, if you want to put yours in my phone.. "

She takes no time to store his number in her phone, then sends a text with a smiley face in it.

"There! I'll text you later with more details on where we're going."

" I....okay..."

Are there other places to go other than just to the dance. This was complicated. Why.
He looked back at Julian again.

With that she waves and leaves as quickly as she'd arrived.

Julian looks back.

"...?"

"Pretty sure that was you getting asked out-or well-recruited to going to Sadie Hawkins." Julian shrugs at Issa, not really sure how to explain Piper's tactics.

She just, kinda did whatever she wanted.

Issa stood in the door for a while, quiet, before looking a little uncomfortable.

"...I've never been on a date before, Julian....."

"...Never?" Not that he was exactly surprised, but, still.

"Well. We gotta do something about what you're going to wear."

Issa glanced down to what he was currently wearing, then back to Julian.
" Um, but it's just a casual thing, right. We don't have to get super dressed up. Right?? "

"Yeah it's casual but it'd be good if you still looked a little nice." Issa you are wearing contrasting colors and patterns. "Besides you're gonna get pictures anyways right? It'll be fun!"

Issa still looked unsure of all this, but nodded and relaxed regardless. Julian had been really nice the whole time they roomed together, so him being reassuring and sounding pretty confident that he knew what he was doing was enough to put Issa at ease. He's probably just panicking over nothing, yeah.

" Okay....yeah, yeah. " He walked over and flopped down on his bed.

" Are you going to the dance too?? "
