Rosalind stared stonily at each and every student as they filed into the gym. Under her gaze, even the innocent ones looked away guiltily as if she knew every class they'd skipped over the past four years.
Once they were all seated on the rows of bleachers, she continued to stare, arms folded, until everyone was sweating with nerves.
"Which one of you," she said with the cold of a thousand winters in her voice. "Put Mr. Calloway's car on the roof of the school."

"If you only think that you played no role, then how do you know for sure? Do you sleepwalk? Split personality, maybe?" She finger-combed her bangs lightly. "Either way, you're safe for today."

"I-- I, uh, I guess I haven't. Considered those things before ..." He looks as if he's heavily considering them.

"Unless more cars suddenly start to show up on the rooftop, I'd say you're good." She keeps her focus honed in on him for the time being. "What do you think the football team did it for? A bet? A bad joke? Blackmail, perhaps?"

"Probably ... a joke ... I'm not really sure. I don't know a lot about them." Jokes or the football team?
